What do the Vagabonds have to offer?For males and females ages 9 and 17; the Vagabonds Junior Drum and Bugle Corps will offer free brass instruction and free use of brass instruments. The only requirement is to march with the Vagabonds for two years. If interested, parents must accompany the student to be enrolled in the Vagabonds. Rehearsal is at 6:30 PM every Monday evening till 7:30 P.M. at the Vagabond School of Music, 219 Penn Avenue, Lyndora, PA. Use of musical equipment and facilities are free of cost. What is a Drum & Bugle Corps?A Drum and Bugle Corps is a sophisticated ensemble. It combines the power of brass, the impact of percussion, and the beauty of the colorguard to entertain thousands of spectators every summer.
Why should you join the Vagabonds?The junior corps wants to give the young students in the Butler area the opportunity to develop musical and marching proficiency. Not only do we provide the basic marching skills, we also provide performances in which the student can showcase their talents. This fun filled activity, has proven successful in giving students a chance to advance their instrumental and music training at the elementary and high school level. What is my financial responsiblity?Your responsibility will be minimal. We provide all instruments, uniforms, travel and instruction free. The instruments will be provided to each member of the organization. In return we ask that a family member occationally volunteers to help with our fund raising projects. Horns issued will be three valve horns and pearl percussion equipment.
